Description of the Original Condition
The original lighting system for the observation tower consisted of 38 light fixtures with a total power consumption of 11,760 W.
The light fixtures were installed at three different heights on the structure:
- Location 1 – 12 lights (4,800 W), mounted directly on the steel structure
- Location 2 – 16 lights (6,400 W), inside and outside the structure
- Location 3 – 10 lights (560 W), on the roof and inside the summit cabin
The light sources used (HPI-T, CDM-T, CDM-R, SON-T) produced a combination of warm white and warm yellow light.
The cabling was routed through conduit, and each location had its own fuse box.
Description of the New Solution
The new lighting system was designed using modern RGB LED fixtures, which allow for dynamic color modes and individual control. A total of 40 lights with a total power consumption of 8,264 W.
Light Fixture Layout:
- Location 1 – 8 light fixtures (2,328 W), replacement of the original fixtures
- Location 2 – 16 lights (4,656 W), same placement as originally
- Location 3 – 16 lights (1,280 W), new lighting for the top of the tower and the interior of the cabin
Technical Solution:
- Use of LED Lights ColorGraze MX Powercore and ColorReach Powercore gen2
- Addition iPlayer 3 control unit for dynamic lighting scenes
- the ability to control each light fixture individually
- New mounting of light fixtures using beam clamps and structural components
- Installation of new wiring and modifications to the fuse boxes

Modern optical systems enable more precise light distribution.
The middle section of the observation tower is now evenly lit along its entire height, which enhances its visual appeal when viewed from a distance.
Dynamic lighting scenes
Thanks to RGB technology, the observation tower can be illuminated in any color to create effects such as:
- smooth transitions
- pulsation
- colorful waves
- Themed modes for special days and events
New Visual Elements
- newly illuminated summit peak

- The observation tower looks much more attractive and iconic against the Prague skyline
